How to Improve Quotes in Press Releases
One area that I know lots of PR people struggle with is crafting quotes for press releases (yes, you read it here first and I hate to admit it – but people who are quoted in press releases sometimes do get help from PR people in “finding the right words” – take that Wikileaks, you have nothing on us now).
I read some good advice about this in the form of blog post on Impertinent Remarks. The blog advises:
- Keep it conversational
- Paraphrase
- Sharpen interview skills
- Trash those lazy verbs
